Here's how things go sometimes:
Dexcom: BUZZ BUZZ! You're blood sugar is 15 million and 20! You're going to DIE! You're going into DKA!!! Oh my god!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Ping Meter: BEEP! Eh, you're at 160. Just take some insulin.
Dex, I love you, but you're a little off base and melodramatic once in a while.

It's going around!!! C and I have both had issues with our CGMs lately! I love this post!
ReplyDeleteWhat I HATE is when the Dexcom buzzes me to let me know I'm high, low etc., barely 2 minutes after I've looked at the reading. Especially if I'm at church or in a meeting at the office.
ReplyDeleteOr this:
ReplyDelete"BUZZZ! WAKE UP! WAKE UP! It's 2 in the morning and you're having an awesome dream about baby hippos and ice cream! You're blood sugar is 172! OMGWAKEUP!"
Yep. CGM hysteria all over the place. And then, just when it discovers that you're on to its spotty alerts, it goes all nuts and declares a frantic "???" or "Lost Sensor" just to throw you off your game. What a scandal.
